FAQs
BitCAD is a computer aided design (CAD) software, that can be used by any professional who needs to display, modify or create DWG drawings. BitCAD uses DWG as native file format, which allows users to share the drawings created with their partners, whether they use BitCAD or other DWG CAD software, as AutoCAD®, without loosing any information. BitCAD also provides a user interface and a command line (line, trim, offset, fillet, hatch, array...) very much known by CAD users.
BitCAD was born from the efforts of several CAD industry leaders committed in the development of a powerful and affordable CAD solution, according the CAD standards already implemented. These companies created a Consortium known as Intellicad, which provides the engine used in BitCAD. Surrounding this powerful engine, several companies develop their own solution, adding technologies such as Raster Image management, Render engine, network licensing, plotting systems, between many other productivity tools and user interface modifications, also sharing and exchanging this technologies between each others. The final balance of this work is a cost/effectiveness CAD solution that covers 100% of users needs in what CAD is related, both for advanced or basic users.
We can also find many vertical applications for architecture, engineering, mechanical or survey that uses BitCAD as main engine for their work, preventing professionals from the normal solution of spending more money in the engine than in the software they really use.
Yes, BitCAD uses as native format the AutoCAD® DWG file format, compatible from the 2.5 version up to the 2008 version. Files created in BitCAD will be written in any other CAD software using DWG, such as AutoCAD®, without any problem or losses of information. The opposite also applies, since BitCAD reads and manages DWG files created in AutoCAD®.
Not at all. BitCAD's
compatibility with AutoCAD® does not only applies to file format.
You'll get a very similar user interface, as also the same command
line. This means that, if you already know AutoCAD®, with BitCAD
you'll get up and running very quickly. You don't need any deep
training, normal when adopting new solutions. Primeware will also be
happy to help you and your company members the the process of
adoption of BitCAD.
The minimum system
requirements to use BitCad are:
- Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT
4.0/2000 Pro/XP/Vista.
- Pentium 300MHz processor or equivalent.
-
128MB of RAM.
- 150MB Hard disk.
- Graphic Card supporting
16 bit colors and 1024X768 or superior resolution. Always use the
last drivers available.
We recommend:
- Pentium 4 1.8GHz
processor or equivalent.
- 512MB of RAM. The
more RAM you have, more performance you'll get on BitCAD.
- 1GB Hard Disk.
- 128MB Graphic Card.
Sure. You invite you to download BitCAD's trial version in the download link inside BitCAD Area on our website. We can work with a fully functional BitCAD version for 30 days, for evaluation purposes only, without any commitment.
Worldwide, almost all digital drawings are produced and stored in DWG file format. This way, in their lifecycle, all companies will one day need to open, view, modify or even create (of course this last one applies more in certain industries as AEC or manufacturers) DWG files. BitCAD is without question the choice for it. Either if you are an advanced, intermediate or basic user of standard CAD software programs, you'll find in BitCAD the best cost/effectiveness solution.
In case of you want a considerable number of licenses, we can review the unit price and propose you very good conditions for BitCAD licenses acquisition. We can also get a corporate license in order to install BitCAD in all the workstations you need.
By using BitCAD,
you'll be able to interact with partners and clients that uses the
standard file format (DWG) in a proper way, without need to spend the
usual huge values and without change the usual methods. BitCAD also
reads and saves in DXF, format used by all software programs, so
BitCAD can work as a complement to your solution.
Not necessarily. It all depends on users needs. BitCAD is a powerful software program that works with DWG as native format. This is also used by AutoCAD®, so you can use BitCAD together with the existing licenses of AutoCAD you already got.
BitCAD is clearly a substitute for:
- Illegal copies of CAD software, which can lead to complicated legal issues;
- DWG Viewers;
- Old CAD licenses, only compatible with old versions of DWG.
BitCAD is the perfect solution for your business. BitCAD allows you to share files with all your partners and clients, achieve great levels of productivity and be fully legal, according the current laws that demands the licensing of all software programs.
BitCAD is the perfect solution for your business. With BitCAD, you can not only largely reduce costs in workstations in which are already working with CAD software, but also increase the use of CAD software within, something that is obviously an advantage, but was being late by the huge costs normally applied. BitCAD allows you to share files with all your partners and clients, achieve great levels of productivity by a spread and complete use it. We can apply very good conditions on quantity sales.
BitCAD allows you to acquire standalone or network licenses. Using a network floating license system, with network licenses, you can install BitCAD in every workstations you want connected by a network. Then you define a maximum number of simultaneous workstations using BitCAD, and that is the only number of licenses you need (one network license=one concurrent user). This way, we'll only have to acquire the licenses you'll really use.
BitCAD is much more complete than AutoCAD® LT. With BitCAD, you can make 3D drawings, you can add your own applications (LISP, AUTOLISP, ADS-SDS, DCL), you have features as Render or raster Image, and many productivity tools not present in AutoCAD® LT. By using BitCAD instead of AutoCAD® LT, you will not only largely reducing costs. You'll also be increasing your productivity and possibilities.
Definitely not. BitCAD fully integrates in your working network. One of the greatest advantages of BitCAD is that allows you to use it together with other solutions, or complement their use, since you can trade the files between them. You can also use in BitCAD other usual entities and methods, such as XREF's, plot through a server machine, and much more.
